Stone Chain

Kanchi temple was built way back in 4th century. This pillar I feel is incredible. The Chain on the top right is carved in a single stone and no adhesives were used. I am not sure if you have already read my comment in my previous post 'Kanchi Temple Entrance' and hence pasting it here agin:

It is believed that Lord 'Parvati' wife of Lord Siva prayed for him under a mango tree at this place. This is 5000 yrs old tree still existing and is famous for producing mangos in 4 different tastes. This place is also famous for pure silk sarees.
